One Room Challenge – Christine Dovey

The One Room Challenge is a yearly room makeover event where 20 home-design bloggers are challenged to make over a space and show the process over six weeks. The challenge is a great event to keep an eye on as it leads to many interesting design and style ideas in varied spaces of the home.

In the most recent Challenge, designer Christine Dovey based in Oakville, Ontario used our Tulum tile pattern as part of her amazing bathroom remodel. The old bathroom was gutted and new tile, paint and fixtures completely transformed the space. I think you’ll find the reveal just as beautiful as we do…and all in 6 weeks!

American Rehab: Detroit – DIY Network

Our handmade cement tiles were used on the recently aired episode of American Rehab: Detroit on the DIY Network.

The show follows the story of Chris Lee and his wife Amy.They took a leap of faith and bought a huge, dilapidated house in Detroit. Chris’s great-grandparents lived in the grand home during the height of their wealth in the 1920’s, but lost everything in the Depression. The house had been neglected and abandoned for years until Chris and Amy purchased it at auction for $8,000. The couple fixes up the grand property throughout the season, trying to get done before their daughter begins to walk.

The living room project, with help from designer Ellen Premtaj of Elle Interiors in Detroit, uses the CH120-1A cement tile pattern from our Cuban Heritage Collection on a restoration of the fireplace surround. The end result looks amazing.

Tyler featured on Apartment Therapy – Washington, DC

Our Tyler cement tile pattern was part of a beautiful bathroom on a home tour featured on Apartment Therapy. The tour shows the results of a gorgeous renovation in Washington, DC. The renovation remains loyal to the Victorian architecture of the home while blending it with the family’s personal decor elements and style.

The Tyler handmade cement tile pattern adds a dramatic flair to the master bathroom as a feature wall. We love the curtain…there’s no sense in hiding this view behind a door!

The classic black and white look never goes out of style and really helps this bathroom look crisp and clean, while also showcasing the beautiful tub and pedestal sink. Of course the bullhorns just add to the look!

Tulum featured on Curbly.com – Portland, Oregon

We are lucky to get some great mentions and posts on interior design, home, or architectural blogs. One of our favorite posts, featured here on Curbly.com, showed the amazing remodel of a bathroom in Portland, Oregon. The Deputy editor of Curbly, Capree Kimball, was pleased to share the pictures of her bathroom makeover and for that we are very thankful!

Capree wanted to gut the existing bathroom, but keep and feature the existing clawfoot tub. She was looking for bold “statement flooring” and fell in love with our Tulum cement tile pattern. The handmade cement tile really coordinates with the tub and the classic white subway wall tile.

Chevron Cement Tile – Jackson, WY

Who doesn’t love a great zig-zag pattern?

We were thrilled to receive a picture from a customer in Jackson, Wyoming of our Chevron Black pattern. It was used to take the look of their utility room to a whole new level. We wouldn’t even mind doing laundry in this space (did I just say that???).

The chevron pattern has become an increasingly popular design and accent feature in decorating the last few years, but this use of our handmade cement tile on the floor really stands out.

The chevron tile pattern can be customized in any colors of your choice although the black/white and sage/white (see below picture by Nicole Chouinard Color and Design ) color options are in stock and ready to ship.

Manzanillo – Seattle, WA

We love receiving and sharing pictures of our handmade cement tile from happy clients!

Seattle artist Kari Westphal (www.daisysky.com) sent us some photos of her beautiful bathroom remodel using our Manzanillo pattern along with a mix of solid colors in blues, greens and white. Kari loved the idea of taking a pattern she loved and customizing the colors and she is thrilled by the result. The project was installed by Wilson Tile (www.wtile.com).

This is an example of the many different looks and combinations you can accomplish by mixing solid colors.

Fireplace Remodel – San Antonio, TX

Sometimes, a little cement tile can go a long way!

These great pictures were sent to us by customers in Texas who were thrilled with how the custom handmade cement tile they chose really transformed the look of their fireplace hearth. They wanted to make the fireplace a beautiful feature in their living room that matched the charm of the rest of the room.

Before:

The old quarry tile was removed and replaced with a custom version of our Moorish Pattern. The customers loved the fact that they could change the colors to meet their needs. All of our tiles can be customized in the colors of your choice to match your decor or design idea.

After:

We think the hearth looks great and really changes the room, making it much more comfortable and inviting.

Geneva Red and Clavel – Washington DC

We were thrilled to receive some gorgeous installation pictures of our handmade cement tile from a remodel in Washington DC. The owner is thrilled with the new cement tile floors and loves the character they have given to the home.

Our Geneva Red cement tile pattern was used in the master bathroom and looks great with the free standing tub. Geneva Red is an in-stock pattern and is available to ship out immediately.

This classic pattern really stands out and becomes a focal point against the neutral walls and white fixtures.

Our Clavel pattern in black, white and gray gives a whimsical touch to the kitchen and coordinates nicely with the dark cabinets.
