Marble & Natural Stone Mosaic Product Information
Review general application guidance, natural stone characteristics, and installation and maintenance considerations. Exact suitability depends on the individual stone, finish, and sheet backing.

These ratings are general guidance only, not product-specific certification. Natural stone, finishes, backing adhesives and mesh systems vary. No collection-wide slip-resistance, water-absorption, breaking-strength or freeze–thaw test data are available. Sealer does not replace waterproofing or prevent acid etching. Confirm suitability for the exact product and project before specifying.
Natural Stone Characteristics
Marble and other natural stone mosaics may show variation in veining, color, mineral inclusions, shade, surface texture and occasional fissures. Pieces and sheet alignment may vary. Inspect all materials and blend sheets before installation, especially where several boxes are used.
Some mosaics are mounted on mesh or other backing with adhesives that vary by product. Confirm the selected stone, finish, sheet dimensions, thickness, coverage and backing system from the individual listing or a physical sample. A sealer may improve stain resistance, but natural stone can still stain, absorb moisture or etch when exposed to acids.
Installation & Care
Use an installer experienced with natural stone and sheet-mounted mosaics. Confirm a properly prepared, suitable substrate and a complete waterproofing system wherever required. Verify mesh/backing compatibility with the setting material. Light or translucent stones may require white stone-compatible mortar; moisture-sensitive stones may require a specialized setting system. Test grout, sealers and cleaning procedures on spare material first.
Use stone-compatible, pH-neutral cleaners and soft, nonabrasive tools. Avoid vinegar, acidic bathroom cleaners, harsh chemicals and abrasive polishing products, which may etch or scratch marble and related stones. Assess the need for a compatible penetrating sealer and follow its instructions for initial application and periodic maintenance; sealing does not make an installation waterproof.
See the downloadable Product Specifications, Installation Guidelines and Care & Maintenance documents above. Wet floors, commercial floors, exterior installations and other demanding applications require project-specific verification.
