*Backsplash tile is an architectural finish, not a food-preparation or food-storage surface. Do not use as cookware or serving ware. Application guidance is general and is not a substitute for product-specific performance testing, local code requirements, or a qualified installer's assessment. A sealer alone does not make a wet-area assembly waterproof.
Handmade Characteristics
Our zellige is handcrafted from natural clay and finished in traditional Moroccan workshops. Variation in color, shade, surface sheen, shape, thickness and edge profile is expected. Minor pits, fine glaze crazing, surface irregularities and chipped edges are part of its handmade appearance.
Inspect your order and blend tiles from multiple boxes before setting. Plan the layout with your installer, and use pieces with more pronounced variation selectively for cuts and edges. We generally recommend ordering an additional 15–20% for cuts, layout preferences and future repairs.
Tile dimensions and thickness may differ by format and source workshop. Always use the specifications listed for the individual product above.
Installation & Care
Zellige should be installed by a professional familiar with handmade tile. Appropriate setting materials, grout, substrate preparation, moisture protection and maintenance depend on the application.
Sealing: Glazed zellige does not normally require routine sealing. Test selected grout and any pre-grout treatment on spare pieces before installation.
