Large Format Terrazzo - Small Glass Chips - Color 18
Product details
| Notes: | Manufactured with on high quality Italian machinery. Natural imperfections are an inherent characteristic of terrazzo tiles. These imperfections include chipped edges, pitting, crazing (hairline cracks) and variations in thickness, color, shading and size. These imperfections are what gives terrazzo tiles their beautiful look and finish. Large format terrazzo tiles are sold individually. 12x12 tiles are boxed. All other sizes are not boxed, but are packed securely on a pallet. |

Exterior suitability is not established for all colors, sizes or surface finishes. Manufacturer literature discusses outdoor use for some shot-blasted terrazzo, but standard polished products and Scarpa designs require separate confirmation. A 2024 sample wet pendulum result of 30 is not an ANSI wet DCOF classification. Verify slip resistance, moisture exposure, freeze/thaw exposure, installation design and code requirements for the actual product and application.
Handmade Characteristics
Large-format terrazzo is made from cementitious material with decorative aggregates, pressed and cured, then calibrated and polished. Variation in aggregates, color, texture and finish is natural.
Verify the selected size, thickness, finish, handling equipment, substrate and substrate movement requirements. Shot-blasted products may have different exterior and slip properties from polished tile.
Installation & Care
Use an installer experienced with large-format terrazzo. The 2023 MAPEI letter identifies Granirapid System or Ultraflex LFT Rapid mortar, Flexcolor CQ grout, Mapesil T Plus sealant and UltraCare Penetrating Plus sealer for suitable substrates; current product data and a project-specific system review control. Follow substrate flatness, coverage, back-buttering, movement joint, curing and sealing instructions.
Clean with a compatible pH-neutral cleaner, promptly remove spills, and avoid acid cleaners or abrasive polishing. Do not assume the factory sealer prevents staining or makes the assembly waterproof. Exterior installations require separate written approval.
